Why Attend Our Championships?
Our Championships are open to any dance school that attends one of our regular events — no exclusive invites, no barriers. We’re proud to keep things inclusive and welcoming, while still giving dancers something to strive for.
All attending schools can enter:
- Friday Night Showdowns (Across-the-Floor, Duets, Battles)
- Any Duos on Saturday
- All Team Sections, MegaCrews and a Supergroup
- Parent teams, Solos and duos
Solo Qualification for Championships
Soloists must qualify at one of our regular events by placing 1st–6th in an eligible solo section in the style of dance.
There are two qualification routes for solos:
- Set Solos
- Freestyle/Improv Solos
A dancer only needs to place in one of these qualifying sections to earn their place at the Championships in that style, as outlined below.
The following solo sections will be running at Championships, and dancers must qualify for these sections at one of our regular events:
- Acro Set Solos — qualification must be achieved in Acro Set Solos
- Contemporary Set Solos — qualification can be achieved in either Contemporary Set Solos or Contemporary Improv Solos
- Street Freestyle Solos — qualification can be achieved in either Street Set Solos or Street Freestyle Solos
This creates clear and simple qualification routes, while still keeping Championships inclusive and accessible for attending schools. Dancers must enter the ability level they were placed in.

Here’s everything you need to know about eligibility, ability levels, ageing up, and how our rules ensure fairness across the board at the Championships:
Detail
Qualifying Again Before Champs in Solos
Q: Can I attend another event before Championships and try to qualify in a higher section?
A Yes! However, if you don’t qualify in that higher ability, you must still enter the Championships at the ability level you originally qualified in.
Moving Up in Ability
Q: If I place 1st or place 2nd–5th three times, do I have to move up before the Championships?
A: No — ability upgrades take effect in the next season. You can move up voluntarily and try to requalify, but once you do, you must compete in the
highest ability level you qualified in.
Teams & Duets – Staying Fair
Teams and duets follow standard progression rules, just like at our regular events. There is no qualification required for teams or duets to remain inclusive, but all must follow current ability level rules.
Q: If my team or duo wins 1st place Beginner, do they compete in Intermediate at Champs?
A: Yes — they must enter at the new, higher ability level.
Ageing Up Before Champs
If a dancer moves up into a new age group, they must compete at the Championships in their qualified ability and their new age group. After Champs, they may choose to remain in the new ability or drop down — but never to Intro if they’ve moved up.
