Starting out

Past:

In 2010, a passion was ignited. After attending various competitions with a dance school, the realization hit that not only was there an insatiable love for these events, but there was room for improvement. This drive led to the inception of CUO "Calling U Out" in 2011, and by 2012, they had successfully run their first event. They quickly became trailblazers, introducing innovative segments to the dance scene. From launching breaking battles at street dance events to pioneering unique sections like Contact Improv, Across the Floor, Partner Tricks & Lifts, and Super Groups, CUO showcased versatility and creativity. While no single individual stands out from their early years, the strength of long-lasting relationships with trusted judges, hosts, and DJs solidified their position. Integrity was not just a word; it was a mantra that resonated throughout CUO's journey.

What We've Done

Present:

Fast forward to today, CUO has orchestrated over 100 events, with the crowning jewel being their annual championships. These championships have not just been events; they have been phenomena, with the most recent one witnessing over 3000 soloist entries, 136 dance teams, and a sold-out audience. Their urban theme permeates all events, ensuring inclusivity across dance genres while emphasizing the spirit of dance over the mere glory of a trophy. The camaraderie, support, and social dancing aspects underline the CUO experience. Their distinctiveness is evident: from being the pioneers of intertwining three dance styles to their unwavering commitment to fresh, urban ideas. CUO's collaborative efforts with universities underscore their commitment to elevating and promoting dancers.

Where CUO is Heading

Future:

As eyes turn to the horizon, CUO's ambition is clear: to be the most sought-after events company in the North West, all while staying anchored to its foundational values of community, inclusivity, and harnessing dance's power to unite. The anticipation builds for their next flagship event in 2025 at Blackpool, which promises to be an extravaganza of dance. With the debut of a unique online booking system and the introduction of novel competition sections, the future is exhilarating. In an ever-evolving dance industry, CUO's strategy is twofold: keenly attune to contemporary trends while ensuring they never drift from their urban, community-focused core. Their vision is expansive, always seeking ways to uplift their clientele. By fostering a symbiotic relationship with dance schools, they help schools flourish, leading to a richer dance ecosystem for all.

The Concept

We offer cutting-edge events with a view to make everyone's experience enjoyable and one of growth. CUO is the perfect platform for new and experienced dancers to meet, showcase and socially dance together. 

Dancers are encouraged to share their success and support each other whether they win or not. 

The Atmosphere
Your responsibility as an attendee to Calling U Out is to cheer and support someone who is not from your school. Doing this is worth far more to them than if they win a trophy.

Our events cater for brand new dancers, up to advanced levels. Giving everyone the opportunity to share dance with each other.
