Free Workshops & Bolt-ons
Learn, Grow & Be Inspired
Champs includes workshop opportunities designed to inspire dancers, build confidence and give them the chance to experience new styles, teachers and training moments during the weekend.
We are planning to offer approximately 12–15 free workshops across the weekend.
This year, we may also be adding special guest workshops, which could be available as optional bolt-ons.
Social Events, Side Quests, Party & Bolt-Ons
More To Experience
Keep an eye out for our experience zones and extra things to do across the weekend. CUO Bingo, Handstand station, Freestyle Station, and more new fresh ideas
We are working behind the scenes to make Champs even better, with more activities, social moments and optional bolt-ons to help create the full CUO Champs experience.
From stepping onto the floor, learning new skills, meeting other dancers and celebrating together — Champs creates memories that last beyond the weekend.
Spectators Are Part Of The Champs Experience Too
CUO Champs is not just for dancers. Parents, families and spectators can be part of the weekend atmosphere, celebrations, activities and shared memories.
Evening Party Access
Spectators can attend the CUO evening party and celebrate the Champs weekend with dancers, teachers and families.
Friday Celebrations
Join the Friday night celebrations, opening moments and CUO community activities as the Champs weekend begins.
Parent Sections
Spectators can enter any parent sections running on the day free of charge, including parent team or parent and child opportunities where available.
Activities & Fun Areas
Last year included activities such as the handstand competition, freestyle zone and CUO bingo — with even more planned this year.
Spectators can also join in our specific parent and dancer workshops free of charge where listed. These sessions are designed to bring families into the Champs experience and create fun moments beyond the competition floor.
Who Can Attend CUO Championships?
Our Championships are open to any dance school that attends one of our regular CUO events. No exclusive invites and no unnecessary barriers — just a welcoming weekend celebrating dancers, schools and the CUO community.
Open To All CUO Schools
Attend A CUO Event To Join Champs
Any dance school that attends a regular CUO event during the season can attend CUO Championships.
Friday-night social activities, duets, Acro teams, Street Dance teams, Contemporary teams, Mega Crews, Supergroups, Parent Teams and Parent & Child sections.
What Can My Dancers Enter?
Open Sections For Attending Schools
All attending schools/dancers can enter Friday Night Social activities, duets, Acro teams, Street Dance teams, Contemporary teams, Mega Crews, Super Groups, Parent Teams and Parent & Child sections.
Solo sections can also be entered where dancers have qualified during the CUO season.
Solo Qualification
How Soloists Qualify
Soloists must qualify at one of our regular CUO events by placing 1st–6th in an eligible solo section in the correct style of dance.
There are two qualification routes for solos: Set Solos and Freestyle / Improv Solos.
A dancer only needs to place in one of these qualifying sections to earn their place at Championships in that style.
Solo Sections Running At Championships
Championship Solo Routes
Acro Set Solos:
Qualification can be achieved through Acro Set Solos or Across The Floor.
Contemporary Set Solos:
Qualification can be achieved through Contemporary Set Solos or Contemporary Improv Solos.
Street Freestyle Solos:
Qualification can be achieved through Street Set Solos or Street Freestyle Solos.
Ability Levels
Enter The Correct Level
Soloists must enter the ability level in which they qualified. All other sections must be entered in accordance with our regular rules.
Please check the latest CUO rules before entering dancers to make sure they are entered into the correct level, style and section.
This structure keeps Championships clear, simple and inclusive. Schools can attend and enjoy the full Champs experience, while solo qualification still gives dancers something special to work towards throughout the CUO season.

Creating Memories
Testimonials
What We’re Improving for Champs 2027
We have listened carefully to teacher feedback from Champs and are already making changes to improve the experience for dancers, teachers and families.
Clearer Rules
We are aligning rules across Street, Contemporary and Acro, with clearer ability level guidance and entry checks.
More Space
We have booked the Spanish Hall to provide additional space. If duet entries exceed the maximum section capacity, age categories will be split into smaller sections, creating a smoother experience and more opportunities for dancers to place.
Better Flow
We are planning to run more of the weekend by age group rather than style to help with timings, workshops and dancer fatigue.
More CUO Fun
Expect more fun moments, activities, party-style sections, free workshops and experience zones across the weekend.
Teacher Areas
We are planning clearer teacher viewing areas, Gold Band access areas and a teacher chill-out zone.
Inclusive Champs
Solo qualification will stay, while duos, teams and open sections remain accessible for attending CUO schools.
To keep Champs inclusive, exciting and full of CUO energy, while making the event smoother, clearer and easier for everyone attending.
